Representing Madhya Pradesh, Umanga secured a place in the top 20 among 52 contestants at the national finale held in Jaipur on August 23. The title was won by Kerala’s Kajia Liz Mejo.
What sets Umanga apart is that she is not just a model associated with beauty pageants, but also works as a cloud engineer at Google in Bengaluru. Soon after the finale, she returned to her corporate job. She also shared a video on social media of a day at her office, showing her routine involving the gym, work, lunch and meetings.
According to the report, Umanga studied at St Joseph Senior Secondary School in Bhopal and later earned a master’s degree in campus computer networking from ABV-IIITM Gwalior. Her professional work is linked to areas such as cloud technology, application development and generative AI.
Umanga’s story is also being discussed because she continued her technology career despite taking part in a beauty pageant. Her journey shows that a corporate career and personal interests can be pursued together.
