CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, participated in the Tiranga Yatra in Ichhawar, part of the Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency. Approximately 10,000 farmers joined this 20-kilometer-long Tiranga Yatra from Ladkui to Bhairunda. During the event, Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stones and inaugurated various development projects in Bhairunda, addressing a public gathering. He also interacted with students of the CM Rise School and inaugurated a school bus. Additionally, he engaged in a dialogue with the Ladli Bahna beneficiaries.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized that agriculture is the backbone of the economy, and farmers are its soul. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the welfare of farmers is a top priority for the central government, and developing agriculture and villages is their commitment.
The Union Minister further mentioned that after the Ladli Bahna scheme, the next goal is the Lakhpati Didi campaign, which aims to ensure that each sister earns an annual income of over one lakh rupees. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined to make 3 crore women Lakhpatis. On August 25, the Prime Minister will visit Jalgaon in Maharashtra, where a significant event will be held, during which he will distribute Lakhpati certificates to 11 lakh Didis.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan also participated in a large-scale tree plantation program organized by Karunadham Ashram in Bhopal, where he planted saplings. On this occasion, he remarked that when you do something regularly, it becomes a practice. Any noble work that benefits others is a form of practice and penance. Tree plantation is a form of penance, and today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” initiative. This is how the Earth will be saved, and no other work could be more sacred. Tree plantation is an extremely holy task, as this Earth is not just for us but also for future generations. In our pursuit of material progress, we have exploited it, leading to problems like climate change and global warming. That’s why I have resolved to plant one tree every day.
