The Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts at Scope Global Skills University, Bhopal, is organising a two-day national seminar sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, on the theme “Unsung Tribal Heroes in the Indian Freedom Struggle: A Re-reading of Regional History”. The seminar aims to prominently place in national discourse the contributions of brave heroes from tribal communities in India’s freedom movement, whose struggles and sacrifices have not received due space in historical writing.
Through the seminar, a national-level discussion will be held on the contributions of tribal heroes, their struggles and sacrifices, and various aspects of regional history. An effort will be made to bring forward important chapters of history and unsung people’s heroes who made significant contributions to the Indian freedom struggle.
The inaugural session will be chaired by Santosh Choubey. Narayan Vyas will be present as the chief guest. Well-known critic Rakesh Mishra (Wardha University), historian B.K. Shrivastava (Sagar University) and regional historian Anand Singh Rana (Jabalpur) will attend as distinguished speakers. Historians, research scholars and subject experts from across the country are expected to participate in the national seminar. Special emphasis will be laid on connecting the contribution of tribal society with wider academic and national discourse, along with a re-reading of the regional history of the Indian freedom struggle. Prince Kumar Singh is the convenor of this national seminar. The seminar is being organised by the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts of Scope Global Skills University.
