CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that more than 8 lakh youth have secured government jobs in the past eight years through a fair and transparent recruitment process conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) and other state recruitment boards

He contrasted this with previous regimes, where allegations of corruption, nepotism, and political favoritism plagued recruitment. The CM emphasized that today, appointments are solely merit-based, restoring confidence among aspirants. He also highlighted how the government is investing in skill development by expanding ITIs, polytechnics, and training programs under the Kaushal Vikas Mission, which has already benefited 14 lakh youth

The CM added that industrial policies and new investments have created over 60 lakh employment opportunities in the private sector. Together, these initiatives mark Uttar Pradesh’s transformation from a BIMARU (backward) state into India’s second-largest and fastest-growing economy.

Opposition parties, however, have questioned the government’s employment figures, demanding independent audits and pointing to the state’s high youth population and unemployment pressures. Despite this criticism, the government maintains that sustained recruitment drives, industrial projects, and skill training are setting new benchmarks in employment generation and governance.
