CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has taken a sharp dig at the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) slogan, sarcastically referring to it as the “Parivar Development Agency.” In a political jibe aimed at SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Maurya claimed that the PDA narrative is nothing more than a cover for furthering dynastic interests under the guise of social justice.

Maurya stated that Akhilesh Yadav’s leadership is centered around benefiting a close circle of family members and not the marginalized communities the slogan claims to represent. By dubbing Akhilesh the “chairman” of the so-called Parivar Development Agency, he emphasized the BJP’s ongoing criticism of dynasty politics, which has long been a point of contention in Uttar Pradesh’s political discourse.

The remark is part of a broader BJP strategy to challenge the SP’s voter base ahead of upcoming elections by questioning its commitment to genuine backward and minority welfare. The SP, however, has defended its PDA slogan as a representation of inclusive politics and empowerment of neglected communities.

As the political heat intensifies in UP, such barbs highlight the deepening rivalry between the BJP and SP on key issues of representation and governance.
