Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has counted the expansion of road, rail and air connectivity among the state’s major development achievements. In a message shared on social media on Thursday, October 29, he said that before 2017 the state had around one-and-a-half expressways, while 10 expressways are now operational. He also referred to metro services in seven cities and the expansion of air connectivity.
Mention of 12 domestic and five international airports
According to the Chief Minister, air services in the state were earlier limited to a few selected cities. Uttar Pradesh now has 12 domestic and five international airports. He linked improved road, rail and air connectivity with savings in travel time, convenience and the expansion of economic activity. According to him, better connectivity has made movement between different regions of the state easier.
Opportunities for farmers, youth and businesspeople
Yogi Adityanath said better transport arrangements are helping farmers take their produce to larger markets. At the same time, new opportunities are being created for businesspeople and entrepreneurs. He also said better connectivity is making it easier for youth to access education and employment, and is saving time for working people.
Focus on tourism and local employment
The Chief Minister also linked the expansion of tourism with better connectivity. According to him, increased tourist movement can benefit local businesses and the livelihoods of families. He said emphasis is being placed on taking the impact of development to villages, towns and cities. The expansion of expressways, metro services and air connectivity features prominently in the state government’s development-related claims. The actual economic and social impact of these projects can be assessed on the basis of data related to employment, investment, travel time and regional development.
