CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Uttar Pradesh has taken another significant step toward strengthening sustainable transportation and modern connectivity with the launch of 45 electric buses by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). The new fleet will operate between Lucknow and the Gautam Buddh Nagar region, including Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, providing improved access to the upcoming Jewar International Airport.

The initiative reflects the vision of a “New Uttar Pradesh” that is rapidly emerging as a leader in world-class road, air, and public transport infrastructure. Alongside the flag-off ceremony of the electric buses, the Noida Electric Bus Depot was also inaugurated, marking an important milestone in the state’s efforts to promote eco-friendly and efficient transportation systems.

Officials stated that the introduction of electric buses will not only enhance passenger convenience but also contribute to reducing carbon emissions and supporting environmental sustainability. The service is expected to benefit daily commuters, business travelers, tourists, and residents by providing reliable and comfortable connectivity to key urban and industrial centers.

The development aligns with the broader goal of creating a modern, integrated transportation network that complements the region’s growing economic and infrastructural importance. The launch is expected to further strengthen connectivity to Jewar Airport and support the state's ongoing transformation into a major hub for investment, industry, logistics, and sustainable urban development.
