The merit list for round 2 of NEET UG counselling 2026 in Uttar Pradesh has been released. In the list issued on September 21 by the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh (DGME), a total of 33,043 candidates have been declared eligible for choice filling. Candidates can check their merit status on the official website, upneet.gov.in.
Under round 2 counselling, admissions will be conducted for a total of 3,656 seats in government and private medical and dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh. These include 396 seats in government medical colleges and 3,260 seats in private institutions. Choice filling for eligible candidates began at 2 pm on September 21 and will continue until 11 am on September 24, 2026.
After completion of choice filling, the round 2 seat allotment result will be released on September 25, 2026. Candidates who are allotted seats will be able to download their allotment letters and complete the related process from September 26 to October 1, 2026.
How to check the merit list
Candidates should first visit the official website, upneet.gov.in. They should then click on the round 2 merit list link for UP NEET UG Counselling 2026. After the PDF opens, candidates can check their status in the list using their name or roll number, and download and save the merit list for future reference.
After a seat is allotted in round 2, admission to the allotted seat is mandatory. If the seat is not accepted, the deposited security amount may be forfeited, and candidates may have to deposit the prescribed security amount again to participate in the third round.
