Lucknow. There is major relief for candidates preparing for the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test, or UP PET-2026. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has extended the last date for online applications for PET-2026. Candidates will now be able to register, deposit the application fee and submit the online form until September 7, 2026.
Application date extended by six days
UPSSSC had earlier fixed September 1, 2026, as the last date to apply for PET-2026. The commission has now extended it by six days to September 7. This gives an additional opportunity to candidates who could not apply within the stipulated deadline due to technical problems or other reasons.
The online application process for PET-2026 began on August 3, 2026. The commission has advised candidates to complete the application process as soon as possible without waiting for the last date.
Website and OTP issues cited as reason
During the application process, several candidates had complained of technical problems on the UPSSSC website and OTR portal. In particular, difficulties with OTP verification were reported. After this, candidates had demanded that the commission extend the last date for applications.
Corrections can be made until September 8
The commission has extended the last date for applications, but the last date for making corrections in the application will remain September 8, 2026. Therefore, after submitting the form, candidates should carefully check their personal information, educational details and other necessary information.
