Appointment letters were handed over to 912 candidates selected in the police department in Uttar Pradesh. At a programme held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to the selected youths. The selection was made under the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board’s Clerical Cadre Direct Recruitment-2023. Those appointed include candidates selected for the posts of Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts). According to the report, 173 of the 912 selected candidates are women. After receiving the appointment letters, the selected youths will formally begin their service in the police department.
Addressing the programme, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath referred to transparency in the recruitment process. He said the government had made changes in the selection process and efforts were being made to provide government service opportunities to youths on the basis of merit. The Chief Minister also said that the process of providing government jobs to one lakh youths would be taken forward in the next six months. He also mentioned the increase in training capacity in the police department. Meanwhile, according to Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, training for the selected candidates will begin on October 6, comprising six months of institutional training and three months of practical training. It was also stated that the process of direct recruitment for around 35,000 posts in the police department is underway.
