CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies: Ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the atmosphere has begun to heat up over political rhetoric and controversial statements by leaders. Along with similar reactions to the ‘I love you’ remarks by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, state government minister Omprakash Rajbhar’s statement describing himself as the “biggest goon” is also under discussion. At the same time, political activities being carried out by the BJP around Nishadraj have also become part of the political debate.

Owaisi, while addressing the Muslim community in Uttar Pradesh, had appealed to people to say “I love you” to their wives in the morning, afternoon and night. Through this, he also linked his political message. On the other hand, Akhilesh Yadav, reacting to Owaisi’s statement related to “Abdul”, had said that Abdul is a religious and sacred word, and political comments on it should therefore be avoided. Discussion has intensified in political circles over the statements of both leaders.

Meanwhile, a statement made in Banda by cabinet minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Omprakash Rajbhar is in the headlines. He said at a gathering that there is no bigger goon than him. Naming Mukhtar Ansari, Dhananjay Singh, Abhay Singh and Brijesh Singh, he claimed that such people hold court at his place. He also said in a threatening tone that he has the capacity to respond to those who show him defiance.

After the statement went viral, Rajbhar issued a clarification, saying his intention was to challenge the strongmen who intimidate the poor and the weak. He refused to accept that his statement was wrong.

Meanwhile, the BJP is stepping up its activities around symbols and social equations linked to Nishadraj. These developments are being seen as efforts by various political parties to strengthen public outreach and their social base ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
