CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Lucknow. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified organisational preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah may hold separate meetings in November with party workers and office-bearers in all six regions of the state – Kashi, Gorakhpur, Awadh, Kanpur, Braj and western Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of these meetings is said to be to assess the organisation’s position at the ground level and strengthen election preparations.
Emphasis on strengthening the organisation at booth level: According to media reports, Shah’s proposed meetings will place special focus on direct interaction with booth presidents and Shakti Kendra conveners. The party leadership may seek feedback from local workers on the political situation in their areas, organisational activity and voter-related issues. On this basis, increasing organisational activities in areas considered weak and making necessary changes in election strategy will be considered.
Key meeting in Lucknow on October 30 and 31: Before this, Shah is said to be scheduled to attend a meeting of the BJP’s state working committee in Lucknow on October 30 and 31. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, senior state BJP leaders and organisational office-bearers are likely to attend the meeting. Issues such as preparations for Mission-2027, coordination between the organisation and the government, and the role of workers may be discussed.
Region-wise review before the election: Given the political importance of Uttar Pradesh, the BJP leadership is trying to activate the organisation at the grassroots level before the election. Through region-wise meetings, information may be gathered on local challenges, workers’ problems and election issues. However, the outline of the proposed meetings will become fully clear only after the detailed official schedule and agenda are released. Shah’s meetings are being seen as an important part of the BJP’s Mission-2027 strategy. At the same time, the strategies of various parties and voters’ issues in the upcoming Assembly election will play an important role in determining the direction of the electoral contest.
