A major uproar once again broke out during a meeting of the Agra Municipal Corporation. During the proceedings of the House, councillors of the BJP and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) came face to face. During this, a heated argument and a situation of jostling also developed among women councillors. Amid the dispute, a BSP leader was accused of throwing a microphone, after which the atmosphere in the House became even more tense.
During the incident, BJP councillors adopted an unusual form of protest. In protest against the alleged microphone-throwing incident, they took out a symbolic bier of the BSP leader concerned. During this, some BJP councillors were also seen beating their chests and crying. The developments in the House affected the proceedings of the municipal corporation meeting.
As the dispute escalated, councillors from both sides expressed anger against each other. Because of the uproar, it became difficult to conduct normal business in the meeting. Earlier too, a controversy had emerged in a municipal corporation meeting over a microphone being broken and a councillor being expelled.
This episode in the municipal corporation House has created a stir in the local political atmosphere.
