The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the schedule for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027. According to the commission’s official calendar, the preliminary stage of the examination will be held on January 10, 2027. Candidates who qualify will then get the opportunity to appear in the main examination. The main examination is scheduled for June 19 and 20, 2027. Through this recruitment examination, appointments are made to various technical posts in the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB).
According to the application dates already announced by UPSC, the application process for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 began on September 2, 2026. The last date for submitting applications was fixed at 6 pm on September 22, 2026. Candidates should now prepare their study plans keeping the preliminary and main examination dates in mind.
As per recruitment-related information, the examination aims to fill a total of 127 expected vacancies. These include posts such as Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist and Hydrogeologist. The final details of posts and eligibility conditions are given in UPSC’s detailed notification.
The selection process for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination will be held in three stages: preliminary examination, main examination and interview.
