Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has revised the schedule for the Preliminary Eligibility Test, or PET-2026. The examination was earlier proposed for October 23, 24 and 25, but under the revised schedule it will now be held on October 25, October 30 and November 1, 2026.
According to the commission, the examination will be conducted in two shifts on all three days. The first shift will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and the second shift from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The duration of the examination has been fixed at two hours. The change in dates has been made in view of the schedule for the biennial elections to 11 seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council on October 23. Around 35.42 lakh candidates have registered for PET this time, which is significantly higher than in the previous cycle.
PET is the preliminary eligibility test for recruitment to various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in the Uttar Pradesh government. Candidates who qualify may become eligible to appear in the respective recruitment examinations. The commission has not yet announced the date for issuing admit cards. Candidates will receive information about their allotted date, shift and examination centre through the admit card.
