Around 174 passengers were on board the aircraft. The plane was safely landed at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. The US resolution also praised the passengers, crew members and two off-duty pilots who helped land the aircraft safely. The resolution in the US House of Representatives described the incident as an attack on the safety of international civil aviation and called for a full and swift investigation. Captain Machhar is currently recovering after treatment. His courage has also been praised internationally, including by leaders from India and Israel.
