CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The United States has decided to increase its military presence in West Asia amid rising tensions with Iran. The US military is sending about 9,000 additional troops to the region along with a group of warships. The deployment includes more than 7,000 sailors and about 2,000 Marines. A third aircraft carrier is also being deployed.

After their deployment, the number of US sailors and Marines in the region could exceed 20,000. In the current situation, the USS George H.W. Bush and USS George Washington aircraft carriers are also present in the region.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has kept open the possibility of new attacks on Iran. In an interview with Time, he said that if diplomatic efforts do not succeed, bombing in Iran could be increased after the November 3 midterm elections. The US military deployment is being increased at a time when tensions over the conflict with Iran continue and no agreement has been reached on the recent ceasefire proposal.
