CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The weather in North India has deteriorated once again. An alert for rain, thunderstorms and strong winds has been issued in 42 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, flood-like conditions continue in Lucknow, where waterlogging in several low-lying areas has affected normal life.

In Lucknow, the rising water level of the Gomti river has pushed water into several localities. According to reports, around 40,000 houses have been affected. Notably, the flood situation persisted in the city despite limited local rainfall. Officials said water from excessive rain in the upper catchment area of the Gomti in the last week of September reached Lucknow several days later. The water level is now showing signs of receding.

The impact of flooding also continues in Bihar. According to reports, nearly 466 villages in six districts remain affected by floods, impacting around eight lakh people. A warning for rain with thunder and lightning has also been issued in the state.

In Uttarakhand, meanwhile, rain and the risk of landslides in hilly areas persist. People have been advised to exercise caution amid fears of debris falling on roads and traffic being disrupted. The weather department has warned of heavy rain and storms in several parts of North India.
