CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As per the directives of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the “Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign” is being implemented in all districts of the state by June 16, 2024. Various activities are being organized under the campaign in Bhopal district, with a focus on the conservation and rejuvenation of water sources. Under the guidance of Collector Mr. Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, special attention is being given to water conservation, development, cleanliness, and restoration works in rural and urban local bodies.

In this regard, deepening of ponds was carried out in Gram Nalkheda of Bairasia, and tree plantation was also done by the villagers. Additionally, soil work and strengthening of pond embankments were carried out at water bodies in Gram Bagroda, Bakania, and Balamapur. The restoration and deepening work of ponds are progressing in Gram Panchayat Sunaga. In the development block of Fanda, the pond was repaired, silt was removed, and construction work was carried out. Furthermore, in Gram Bangarsiya and Barkheda Salam, activities such as cleaning of drains, construction of contour trenches, and restoration of ponds were undertaken.

Under the campaign, action plans have been formulated for urban and rural areas. Activities such as Kalash Yatra, voluntary labor, water conservation and development work, as well as new and restoration works, will be initiated under this plan. Restoration and maintenance work of water structures such as ponds, check dams, and stop dams will be carried out through public participation and voluntary labor.

Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh emphasized the crucial importance of public participation in making the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign successful. Active participation from rural and urban local bodies will prove to be a significant step towards water conservation in the state.
