The report of his deteriorating health has emerged at a time when the Income Tax Department in Mumbai is investigating alleged financial irregularities linked to film production. The reason for Vashu Bhagnani’s hospitalisation is not yet clear.
According to reports, when news agency ANI contacted Vashu Bhagnani about his health, he requested privacy and asked to be left alone. No detailed official information has so far emerged regarding his health condition. Earlier, on September 28, the Income Tax Department carried out searches at around 12 locations in Mumbai linked to Vashu Bhagnani, actress Rakul Preet Singh and Panorama Studios. Officials’ investigation is said to be focused on records related to alleged foreign transactions and the financial arrangements of film projects.
Reports said the probe is examining funds sent abroad for film projects and related financial documents. However, the Income Tax Department has not yet publicly confirmed the outcome of the searches or any final finding of tax violation. Further investigation and official information in the matter are awaited. Vashu Bhagnani launched Pooja Entertainment in 1995 and has been associated as a producer with films such as “Coolie No. 1”, “Hero No. 1”, “Biwi No. 1”, “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein”, “Sarbjit” and “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”.
