CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At the premises of the District Sainik Welfare Office, Bhopal, a combined program was organized to honour Veer Naris and Kalyanis, raise awareness for ex-servicemen, and conduct a tree plantation drive. The event was organized by the national NGO ‘Damak’ social service organization, with the support of L.K. Dubey (National Director, Damak NGO), Mahesh Shukla (Former Director, BSNL), social worker Deepak Rawat, and IAS officer Pankaj Sharma. Present Veer Naris and World War II Kalyanis were honoured with a shawl (angavastra), coconut (shriphal), and a cash gift.

During the program, a representative from ICICI Bank provided detailed information to the ex-servicemen about the SPARSH portal, including guidance on family details, date of birth correction, and other processes. The August month’s Sainik Conference was held under the chairmanship of Colonel Rajeev Khatri, District Sainik Welfare Officer, who informed the ex-servicemen about various facilities provided by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, Veer Naris, Kalyanis, and ex-servicemen planted saplings in the premises of the Sainik Rest House.
