CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India E-Press / ITDC News Bhopal: On the birth anniversary of the brave son of Bharat Mata and staunch nationalist Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, BJP State General Secretary and MLA Bhagwandas Sabanani, along with Mayor Malti Rai, offered floral tributes at his statue located in Veer Savarkar Udyan, Kotra, in the South-West Assembly constituency.

On this occasion, winners of an essay competition based on the life of Veer Savarkar were awarded certificates and prizes by MLA Bhagwandas Sabanani, Mayor Malti Rai, and Municipal Corporation Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi. The competition was organized by the Veer Savarkar Social, Cultural, and Sports Preservation Committee.
The first prize was awarded to Anshika Sharma, second to Durgesh Sahu, and third to Yashasvini Gupta.

Committee Secretary Mukesh Gupta informed that the essay competition was conducted at Saraswati Higher Secondary School, with participation from students of several schools. Each participant received a consolation prize.
Committee President Kamal Garg expressed heartfelt gratitude to MLA Bhagwandas Sabanani, Mayor Malti Rai, Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi, senior journalist Ramesh Sharma, Santosh Mahant Gupta from Indore, former councilor Mukesh Rai, Santosh Brahmbhatt, Ramneta Singh, Pratiksha Brahmbhatt, Rajshree Gupta, the participating students, and the public for gracing the celebration of Veer Savarkar Jayanti.
