CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: To showcase the contributions of the city’s leading scientific, research, and development institutions in improving the quality of life under one roof, the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal, organized the Vigyan Parv and the Centre’s 30th Anniversary Celebration on January 12, 2025, at its premises.

The Vigyan Parv was inaugurated by Sanjay Goyal, Secretary, School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. In his inaugural address, Mr. Goyal appreciated the role of science museums in fostering curiosity among children. He emphasized the need for practical demonstrations and knowledge-driven platforms like the Vigyan Parv to encourage students to learn science in its true spirit. Shankar V. Nakhe, former Director of the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore, and a distinguished scientist from the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor. He highlighted the festival’s role in nurturing innovation and creativity among students.

Following the inauguration, a popular science lecture, titled “My Life, My Journey,” was delivered by Christ P. Paul, Head of LAM Laboratory, RRCAT, Indore, and Professor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai. The lecture, focusing on “DAE Technologies for Social Applications,” detailed the various technologies developed by the Department of Atomic Energy that directly and indirectly benefit the lives of common citizens and aim to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. Approximately 200 attendees, including students, teachers, and the general public, participated in the inauguration and the lecture.

Since its inauguration, the science festival has been open to the public, with exhibits from 18 scientific institutions from Bhopal and beyond. Participating organizations include IISER Bhopal, EPCO Bhopal, ICAR-IIPR Bhopal, NID Bhopal, IGRMS Bhopal, MP State Biodiversity Board Bhopal, CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal, NIFT Bhopal, HEG Limited Mandideep, CRISP Bhopal, RRCAT Indore, AIIMS Bhopal, IMD Bhopal, CIPET Bhopal, RMNH Bhopal, Urja Vikas Nigam Bhopal, MPCST Bhopal, and RGPV Bhopal. These institutions are showcasing their products and technologies through their respective stalls.

The festival has seen a large number of visitors, including students, teachers, and the general public. It remains open until 2:00 PM on January 12, 2025. So far, approximately 1,600 visitors have benefited from the exhibition.
