CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C. Joseph Vijay conducted a 45-km roadshow across more than 30 villages in the Madurantakam Assembly constituency on Friday, campaigning for party candidate Maragatham Kumaravel ahead of the October 6 bypoll. The campaign began at Mamandur around 2 pm and continued for about four and a half hours, concluding at Mambakkam.

Vijay travelled through several villages and localities, stopping at multiple points to interact with residents and seek support for his party candidate. During the campaign, he stepped out of his vehicle at a roadside tea shop in Endathur, where he interacted with local people and had tea. He also drove a tractor briefly through agricultural land and spoke with women working in the fields.

Large crowds gathered along several stretches of the route, with residents assembling near homes and junctions to see the TVK leader. Party workers and supporters of alliance partners, including VCK, also participated in the campaign. Ministers N. Anand and Aadhav Arjuna accompanied Vijay during the roadshow. The Madurantakam bypoll was necessitated after Maragatham Kumaravel resigned from the Assembly after leaving the AIADMK and joining the TVK.
