CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the vision of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to make the state a leader in dairy production, a two-day national seminar titled “Dairy Development in Madhya Pradesh: Opportunities and Challenges” will be organized on 4th and 5th July 2025. The event is being jointly conducted by the Indian Dairy Association (Western Region) and Vikram University, Ujjain.
During the organizing committee meeting, instructions were given regarding the seminar’s preparations, responsibilities were delegated, and it was decided that progress would be reviewed daily.
Registrar of Vikram University, Anil Kumar Sharma, informed that the meeting of the committees formed for the successful organization of the seminar was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj at the university’s executive council hall.
Notable attendees included G.R. Daruwala, Nandan Gupta, and Subhash Gupta from the Indian Dairy Association (Western Region). Also present were department heads, committee coordinators, and members of various seminar-related committees from Vikram University.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj stated that the national-level event is being organized in alignment with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s vision to launch a Dairy Technology program at Vikram University and to boost milk production in Madhya Pradesh.
G.R. Daruwala, an official of the Indian Dairy Association (IDA), explained that IDA, established in 1948, is the apex body for India’s dairy industry. It collaborates with cooperatives, private institutions, academic bodies, and public sector organizations to promote dairy development. IDA (Western Region) actively works in five major states—Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Goa—to uplift the dairy sector and protect the interests of farmers and consumers.
Nandan Gupta of IDA noted that the seminar aims to fast-track dairy development in Madhya Pradesh, replicating successful dairy models from other parts of India. The recent agreement between the MP Government and NDDB to manage the Sanchi project marks a key milestone. Launching a B.Tech in Dairy Technology at Vikram University is another significant step to prepare skilled manpower for the dairy industry.
The seminar will bring together dairy professionals, academics, industry experts, farmers, and policymakers, fostering knowledge exchange, innovation, and consumer awareness. Topics will include:
Enhancing milk production and productivity
Optimizing feed and fodder resources
Smart dairy farming practices
Advanced processing technologies
Artificial intelligence in dairy
Digitization and marketing strategies
Quality and safety standards
Sustainable approaches to reduce carbon emissions in the dairy sector
The meeting also discussed stage decoration, technical stalls by the dairy federation, and venue arrangements.
It was also announced that Vikram University will start a B.Tech program in Dairy Technology from the current academic session.
