CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Viksit Tech 47 unveiled a landmark report and announced the winners of its inaugural awards at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, highlighting the achievements of Indian technology brands and their potential to strengthen the country’s position in the global electronics and digital technology markets.
The report, titled Building India’s Global Brands in Gadgets, Devices, Appliances and Connected Cars, was released by Pankaj Mohindroo, Chairman of the India Cellular & Electronics Association (ICEA), along with industry representatives. It identifies 129 homegrown brands across these sectors, collectively generating more than ₹60,000 crore annually. The report also outlines a vision of developing 50 Indian brands, each generating ₹1 lakh crore in annual revenue, by 2047.
The inaugural Viksit Tech 47 Awards recognised companies and industry leaders contributing to innovation, domestic manufacturing and the development of India’s technology ecosystem. Lava International received the Viksit Tech Brand of the Year award, while its Managing Director, Sunil Raina, was named Viksit Tech Leader of the Year.
Himanshu Tandon, Chief Business Officer of MIVI, received the Next Generation Leader award, while MediaTek India was recognised as Viksit Tech Enabler of the Year for its contribution to the technology ecosystem.
The Dr. M.J. Zarabi Indigenisation Award was presented to Entra Innovations, a startup incubated at IIT Dharwad, for its VAAYU automotive tyre-pressure monitoring system-on-chip. The recognition highlights indigenous hardware development and efforts to strengthen domestic technological capabilities.
Viksit Tech 47 aims to promote Indian technology brands across consumer electronics, connected devices, appliances and automotive technologies. The initiative emphasises product innovation, engineering, manufacturing, intellectual property and the development of globally competitive Indian companies.
The report and awards align with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, encouraging domestic companies to scale their operations, strengthen local capabilities and expand into international markets. The initiative seeks to provide greater visibility to Indian technology innovators and support the country’s long-term ambitions in electronics and technology manufacturing.
