CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has highlighted five practical considerations for parking in confined spaces, combining safe driving techniques with vehicle features designed to help drivers manoeuvre in crowded urban environments.
With narrow basement parking areas, busy shopping centres and tightly spaced vehicles posing everyday challenges for motorists, the company recommends checking the available space carefully before beginning a parking manoeuvre. Drivers should assess nearby vehicles, pillars, walls and kerbs, while ensuring their starting position provides enough room to enter the space safely.
The second recommendation is to reverse slowly and make gradual steering adjustments. Drivers should stop and correct their position if the vehicle is not aligned properly rather than attempting to force it into a narrow gap. Hill Start Assist, available in the VinFast VF 6 and VF 7, can help prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards when starting on an incline.
The third consideration is using parking sensors to judge the distance between the vehicle and nearby obstacles. According to the company, all VinFast vehicles available in India—the VF 6, VF 7 and VF MPV 7—come with rear parking sensors. The VF MPV 7 also features a rear parking camera to provide additional assistance when reversing.
For particularly tight spaces, the VF 6 and VF 7 are equipped with a 360-degree Surround View Monitor. The system provides a broader view around the vehicle, helping drivers assess their position in relation to parking lines, kerbs and neighbouring cars. However, the company advises drivers to continue checking their mirrors and surroundings rather than relying exclusively on camera displays.
The fifth recommendation is to correct the vehicle’s position whenever necessary. If a car enters a space at an awkward angle or sits too close to one side, drivers can move forward, straighten the vehicle and reverse again. On higher variants, features such as Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert can also provide additional information when moving out of a parking space.
VinFast’s guidance emphasises that technology can make parking more convenient, but careful observation, patience and responsible driving remain essential. The company is positioning these features as part of its broader effort to make electric mobility more accessible and practical for everyday users.
