The Department of Architecture and Planning at MANIT Bhopal is organizing the 2nd Vision Zero Summit, an international conference on Urban Resilience and Safe Mobility, at the EPCO Auditorium, Bhopal, running until March 28, 2025. The event is being held in collaboration with the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI), New Delhi, and the Department of Urban Development and Housing, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The summit brings together renowned professionals, policymakers, and academicians to discuss and deliberate on challenges and solutions in urban adaptability and mobility safety.

Opening Ceremony and Key Addresses

Speaking at the inaugural session, Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, emphasized the importance of social concerns in sustainable urban development. He stressed the need for affordable and reliable transport systems to drive sustainable growth.

Dr. Manoranjan Parida, Director of Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi, highlighted the critical role of road safety in school zones, ensuring a safer environment for children and school-goers.
