CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bhopal hosted a press conference for the launch of “VisionNext: Trend Insight and Forecasting Lab,” an initiative by NIFT. The event was graced by the Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh, who launched India’s first bilingual fashion trend book, “Paridhi 24×25”, and a web portal in the presence of dignitaries such as Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Pabitra Margherita; Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Rachna Shah; Secretary of Textiles, Rohit Kansal; and Additional Secretary of Textiles at Longchamp Hall, Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi.
The core mission of VisionNext is to encapsulate the diversity and complexity of India’s fashion landscape. It empowers businesses, designers, brands, retailers, artisans, and weavers to assess and adapt to the evolving needs of Indian consumers. VisionNext focuses on providing unique research and trend insights tailored to India’s fashion and retail market, establishing India as a global leader in trend forecasting.
India’s entry into trend forecasting brings numerous advantages, such as reducing dependence on global forecasting agencies, offering exclusive insights into Indian fashion consumers, integrating India’s IT strengths with textiles, and blending artificial and human intelligence. VisionNext also offers academic courses, workshops, and trend-related consultancy services. With the combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI), VisionNext has developed an indigenous forecasting system specifically designed for the unique dynamics of the Indian market.
The press conference was led by Ms. Supriya Yadav, Associate Professor and VisionNext Nodal Officer at NIFT Bhopal. The event featured detailed information about VisionNext and “Paridhi 24×25”, the first India-specific bilingual fashion trend book, through a presentation and a documentary.
The event was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Ashish Agarwal, Director of NIFT Bhopal; Debojyoti Ganguly, Associate Professor and Campus Academic Coordinator (CAC); Hema Dubey, Assistant Professor and IT & Webmaster In-Charge; Rajdeep Singh Khanuja, Assistant Professor; Sikandar Bakht, Administrative In-Charge, along with faculty members, staff, and students from the Fashion Communication Department of NIFT Bhopal.
During the Q&A session, NIFT Bhopal’s Director stated, “Until now, we were adopting fashion aligned with Western culture, but the time has come for India’s fashion to be embraced by the West and the global community through NIFT.”
Special guests at the event included Manoj Dwivedi, President of the Public Relation Society of India (PRSI) Bhopal Chapter; Secretary Pankaj Mishra; Rajesh Yadav; and retired Additional Director, Public Relations Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Prakash Sakale.
