CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal/ Sagar: A demand for a high-level investigation has now emerged regarding the FIR filed by the Sagar EOW (Economic Offences Wing) against Dr. Shivendra Dev Pandey, Joint Registrar of the Cooperative Department, in connection with a bribery case. In this regard, senior advocates and departmental representatives associated with the cooperative sector have sent a letter addressed to the Chief Minister.
The letter states that on July 23, Dr. Pandey was accused of accepting a bribe of ₹50,000, as reported in a newspaper. The complainant, Om Patidar, has raised doubts over the action, calling it a “well-planned conspiracy.” He wrote that Dr. Pandey has always been recognized at the departmental level for his honesty and spotless service record, and such allegations against a person of integrity naturally raise several questions.
The letter further emphasizes that the authenticity of the voice recording related to the alleged incident should be verified first. It also demands that the entire case file be transferred from the Sagar EOW to the Bhopal Headquarters, where senior officers can carry out further investigation.
Additionally, it has been alleged that during the raid, the EOW team physically assaulted two cooperative office staff members — Mr. Bablu Yadav and Mr. Manish Patel — for which an independent investigation has also been demanded.
Copies of the letter have been sent to the Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, the Chief Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Government, and the Director General of EOW, to ensure a fair and impartial assessment of the situation, and to avoid hasty action against an honest officer.
