CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: The National Service Scheme unit of Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal, visited Aayam Inclusive School, Ratibad, along with programme officers and NSS volunteers on the occasion of Diwali and National Unity Day. On this occasion, an oath of unity, integrity and dedication to the nation was administered under National Unity Day at both the college and the school.
At the school, children with special needs and other children study together. On this occasion, gifts and various distribution materials, along with firecrackers, sweets and savouries, were distributed to the children. The children recited the Hanuman Chalisa, presented couplets and gave a beautiful presentation of devotional bhajans. NSS volunteers played entertaining games with the children and shared Diwali happiness with them by bursting firecrackers.
The main objective of this activity was to acquaint the volunteers with the diverse realities of life and to develop in them a sense of sensitivity, empathy, inclusiveness and social responsibility. Not everyone’s circumstances in life are the same, but we can certainly become the reason for happiness and a smile in someone’s life.
Through this initiative, the volunteers were inspired that true service lies not only in providing help, but also in making others feel belonging, respect and equality. The objective of NSS is to build a young generation that, along with its own development, understands its responsibilities towards society and the nation and can make a positive contribution.
