CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal. Under the guidance of DRM Pankaj Tyagi, West Central Railway’s Bhopal Division organised an awareness seminar for students at the training institutes of Itarsi Electric Shed and Basic Training Centre, Itarsi Division, under Special Cleanliness Campaign 6.0. The seminar was held to increase awareness about cleanliness and ensure effective implementation of solid waste management.
Students were informed about segregation, collection and proper disposal of waste in accordance with the provisions of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. During the seminar, they were told that waste must be put in dustbins of different colours according to its type. This makes identification and sorting of waste easier and helps organise the process of proper disposal and recycling.
Information was also given on the use of green, blue, red and black dustbins. Students were told that each colour dustbin should be used only for the prescribed category of waste. Keeping waste separated at the initial stage reduces the problem of mixed waste and makes the waste management process more effective.

Students were encouraged to include cleanliness in their daily habits, avoid littering and use designated dustbins. They were also asked to spread awareness among their families and people around them about waste segregation and cleanliness.
Senior DCM Saurabh Kataria said every citizen has an important role in creating a clean and healthy environment. Segregation of waste at source, its proper collection and scientific disposal are essential steps towards making the cleanliness campaign successful. He said Bhopal Division, under Special Cleanliness Campaign 6.0, is continuously motivating railway employees, students and the general public through various awareness activities to become aware of cleanliness and contribute to the goal of Swachh Bharat.
