CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Basant Panchami, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU) will host a poetry class titled “Kavya ka Panchamrit”, featuring five of India’s renowned poets. The young generation of accomplished poet Ramayanadhar Dwivedi will be joined by Dr. Suresh from Lucknow, Masoom Ghaziabadi from Ghaziabad, Rajesh Sharma from Gwalior, and Suraj Rai Suraj from Jabalpur. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great poet Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala’, Vinay Upadhyay Nirala will present the musical essence of his words.

Dr. Pavitra Srivastava, MCU’s Media Officer, stated that since this day also marks the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, patriotism will be the central theme of the class. For the first time on the MCU campus, popular poets from various platforms are coming together. They will demonstrate how a poet or shayar can convey in just two lines—using carefully chosen ten to twelve words—what thousands of words in essays, editorials, or even a two-hour prime-time show cannot.

This poetry class, aimed at teaching the art of words, will serve as the first offering of the new semester, welcoming students from across the country to MCU. On the occasion of World Water Day 2026, the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal successfully organized a variety of awareness programs and activities under the theme of Water and Gender Equality. The aim of these programs was to raise awareness among students and the general public about water conservation and environmental balance.

During the event, participants were shown through jar and ball experiments that only a very small fraction of the Earth’s total water is available as potable water. This simple yet effective demonstration highlighted the limited nature of water resources and the urgent need for their conservation.

Students actively participated by constructing science kits related to water conservation, which gave them the opportunity to understand the scientific aspects of water preservation while also enhancing their creativity and practical skills. Visitors at the Centre also took part enthusiastically by capturing pictures at the specially set-up selfie point, spreading the message of water conservation.

As part of this series of events, a Water Quiz will be held tomorrow. The program witnessed remarkable participation from students, teachers, and the general public, all of whom described it as educational and inspiring.

Through such initiatives, the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal continues its ongoing effort to foster a scientific outlook, environmental awareness, and a sense of responsible citizenship in society.
