CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: The weekly coordination review meeting was concluded under the chairmanship of General Manager Shobhna Bandopadhyay. The meeting was attended by Additional General Manager R.S. Saxena and key department heads from the headquarters. The Divisional Railway Managers from all three divisions also joined via video conferencing.
The meeting focused on several important topics, including safety, station redevelopment, freight loading, and infrastructural works such as ROB/RUB and FOB projects. Emphasis was placed on effective measures to ensure safety and punctuality in railway operations and to increase the speed of goods trains.
At the start of the meeting, Shobhna Bandopadhyay directed that safety be given the highest priority. She instructed the relevant officials to conduct regular inspections of stations, tracks, and bridges as part of the safety drive. Additionally, she emphasized increasing patrolling by gatekeepers on rail sections and speeding up ROB/RUB (LHS) and FOB works under ongoing infrastructure projects. Necessary guidelines were also provided to expedite station redevelopment works under the Amrit Station Scheme and complete them within the stipulated time frame.
During the meeting, the General Manager highlighted the need to focus on passenger amenities and discussed ways to increase railway revenue through enhanced freight loading. She stressed the importance of monitoring train punctuality, addressing train speed-related tasks, and reinforcing safety measures.
The General Manager also reviewed the progress of infrastructure works, stating that safety is paramount for the railways. She reviewed progress on passenger amenities and new projects, directing officials to accelerate their work.
Mrs. Bandopadhyay instructed departmental heads and Divisional Railway Managers to ensure timely train operations while prioritizing safety and passenger amenities during the monsoon season.
