CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of International Museum Day, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the District Archaeology, Tourism and Culture Council was held under the chairmanship of Collector Priyank Mishra. This was the first introductory meeting of the newly formed executive committee, where detailed discussions were held on promoting tourism in Bhopal district, conserving historical heritage, and enhancing local culture.
During the meeting, emphasis was laid on branding Bhopal under the concept of “Vibrant Bhopal” through events such as the Bhoj Festival, Food Festival, Music Festival, and other cultural programs. It was also agreed to promote tourism activities through public participation by organizing photography and videography competitions showcasing Bhopal’s natural beauty, lakes, historical monuments, and tourist destinations.
Collector Priyank Mishra directed the organization of an online competition for the preparation of the DATCC website, booklet, and logo. Additionally, competitions such as art and drawing, photography, reel making, short movie creation, and logo design were also agreed upon.
The meeting discussed preparing a roadmap to give national-level recognition to Bhopal’s cultural and archaeological heritage, initiating heritage walks, developing local guide services, and ensuring basic facilities such as drinking water, lighting, and sanitation at tourist destinations.
It was also suggested that tourism-based employment opportunities should be increased through home-stay schemes and the development of local tourist circuits. Considering the vast tourism potential of Bhopal district, the need for preparing tour packages under the PPP model was highlighted.
A consensus was reached that activities conducted by the Culture Department, Tourism Department, and Archaeology Department should be coordinated and implemented through the District Archaeology, Tourism and Culture Council.
On the occasion of International Museum Day, Collector Priyank Mishra also visited the State Museum.
The meeting was attended by Smart City CEO Anju Arun, DATCC Secretary Smt. Ila Tiwari, and other concerned departmental officials.
