CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Well-known Hindi cinema actor Mushtaq Khan died on September 24, 2026, at the age of 75. The actor, who made his mark with memorable roles in films such as “Welcome”, “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha”, “Hera Pheri”, “Aashiqui” and “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi”, had been battling cancer for some time. His business partner Shivam Yadav confirmed the death.
According to reports, Mushtaq Khan had been admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital for around 15 days. He was diagnosed with lung cancer about five years ago. The illness recently returned and his condition became critical. It was reported that the cancer had also spread to the liver. He had been speaking with people close to him until shortly before his death.
Mushtaq Khan is especially remembered for his role as Ballu in “Welcome” and the dialogue “Meri ek taang nakli hai…”. In “Gadar”, he played Gul Khan and reprised the same character in “Gadar 2”. During his long career, he played several memorable roles in films and on television. Several artistes from the film industry expressed grief over his death. Mushtaq Khan is survived by his family and the memorable roles he left behind in cinema.
