CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the continuous monitoring of West Central Railway General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay and the coordinated efforts of the officers and employees of the Commerce and Operations Department, persistent efforts are being made to increase goods loading. As a result, West Central Railway has loaded a total of 17.57 million tons of freight in the first four months of this financial year, with 3.72 million tons loaded in July alone.

To increase freight traffic, the West Central Railway headquarters and its three divisions are promoting freight loading. Additionally, regular meetings are held at the headquarters and the three divisions with freight traders to establish coordination. To boost goods traffic, initiatives like Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal and Private Freight Terminal are being promoted. The railway is also providing various concessions, discounts, and other facilities to freight traders to attract more business to the railway. Real-time tracking of consignments is being provided to traders, ensuring timely and accurate information.

Furthermore, the average speed of goods trains has been increased, enhancing the capacity and infrastructure of different railway sections while making operational improvements. Round-the-clock loading and unloading services are being offered at several goods warehouses, improving the working of goods terminals and reducing detention times of goods trains. These measures have accelerated train operations and increased freight transportation.
