CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A golden chapter in the history of West Central Railway came to a close as General Manager Shobhna Bandopadhyay retired upon attaining the age of superannuation. A grand farewell ceremony was organized at the headquarters auditorium, where she was accorded a heartfelt send-off.
On this occasion, Additional General Manager Pramod Kumar Khatri, Principal Financial Advisor Manjeet Kaur, and Principal Chief Personnel Officer S.D. A senior officer of the 1987 batch of the Indian Railway Signal Engineering Service (IRSE), Bandopadhyay assumed charge as General Manager of West Central Railway on November 1, 2023. She was the first woman railway officer to hold this prestigious position. During her distinguished 38-year career, she served in key capacities across Central Railway, South Eastern Railway, Northern Railway, West Central Railway, and the Railway Board.
