CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: After an extensive search, the missing British TV presenter Michael Mosley’s body was found on a Greek island on Sunday morning. Mosley had gone missing on June 5 after setting off on a walk leaving his wife on the Agios Nikolaos beach.
According to Greek police, Dr Mosley’s body was found on a rocky coast by a private boat.
Lefteris Papakalodoukas, the Greek island’s mayor, said that he was on a boat with other media persons when the body was seen above the Agia Marina beach. “We zoomed with the cameras and saw it was him,” he told The Associated Press.
A search operation was launched by the police after he was reported missing by his family. He has been missing for around five days amid high temperatures.
The effort has included firefighters, dogs, helicopters, drones, local people and officers from Symi and outside the island. His four children and wife, Clare Bailey Mosley, also had joined the search team on the island.
In a statement, Mosley’s wife said that her husband took the wrong route on a hike and collapsed in a place where his body couldn’t easily be seen.
