CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Why soft approach towards China? Owaisi questions Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has sought answers from the central government over the situation on the India-China border. Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he asked why the government was adopting a friendly approach towards China amid reports of tension and confrontation along the border. Owaisi demanded that the Centre clarify the situation after reports of continuing confrontations with Chinese soldiers at several points along the Arunachal Pradesh border.

Demand for a detailed report on the border situation

Through several posts on the social media platform X, Owaisi raised questions related to border security. He said the country should be informed about the locations in Arunachal Pradesh where complaints have been made about the activities of Chinese soldiers. He also asked whether Indian patrol teams and local citizens had been stopped anywhere and, if this had happened, how long the situation had persisted.

The AIMIM chief demanded that the central government prepare a detailed and independent report on the actual situation at the border and place it before the country. He said transparency and accountability are necessary on issues related to national security and the country’s territorial integrity.

Appeal to call a special session of Parliament

Owaisi also demanded that a special session of Parliament be called to discuss China policy and the current situation on the border. He alleged that there is not enough discussion on the subject in Parliament and that the government does not provide clear information on the situation. He also referred to the Prime Minister’s statement after the Galwan Valley incident in June 2020 and raised questions about it. These are Owaisi’s political allegations and views.

Issue raised after ITBP chief’s statement

The controversy emerged after Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Director General Shatrujeet Kapoor’s comment about continuing incidents of confrontation along the border adjoining Arunachal Pradesh. Owaisi described the statement as serious and demanded a detailed clarification from the government. Amid these questions over the border situation, it will now be important for an official clarification and related facts to come from the central government. For now, Owaisi’s demand is that the government make information on border-related developments public and hold a discussion on the issue in Parliament.
