CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” scheme of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, a special workshop was organized at the Apex Bank Headquarters in Bhopal. The workshop focused on business diversification of multi-state cooperative societies affiliated with district cooperative banks.

Addressing the workshop, Manoj Gupta, Managing Director of the bank, elaborated on the need to expand opportunities and diversify operations in the cooperative sector. He described multi-state cooperative societies as a strong foundation for self-reliance and rural economic development.

The workshop emphasized broadening the role of cooperative societies, providing technical and financial assistance to farmers and rural entrepreneurs, and strengthening the cooperative structure at the state level.

This initiative is expected to help cooperative societies move beyond traditional agricultural lending and become active in sectors like dairy, animal husbandry, organic farming, food processing, and marketing, thereby giving new momentum to self-reliance in rural India.
