CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Students at Bhoj Open University explored the intricacies of developing online video lectures through a workshop organized on the topic of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) under the joint aegis of the Department of Special Education and the Electronic Media Production and Research Center.

On the occasion, University Registrar Sushil Manderia emphasized that all students must possess technical knowledge related to online lectures. Highlighting the growing importance of distance education, he noted that the Government of India’s SWAYAM portal is offering numerous employment-oriented courses via the distance mode.

Senior University Professor B.B. Sharma stated that technology is expanding rapidly and that students can significantly enhance their skills through online learning methods.

Director of the Electronic Media Production and Research Center, Narendra Tripathi, pointed out that we are currently in the digital media era and online education is growing at a fast pace. He added that students can complete online courses available on the SWAYAM portal and, by acquiring technical knowledge of video production, create their own online video lectures.

Producer Pramod Nigam highlighted that basic knowledge of studio setup, editing, and camera operations is essential for producing quality video lectures. He also shared technical insights on video production during a studio tour for the students.

Director of the Department of Special Education, Hemant Keswal, stressed the importance of online video lecture creation skills for students of special education. He noted that alongside technical expertise, a deep understanding of the subject matter is crucial for developing effective content.

The event was attended by M.Ed. Special Education students, along with university officials and faculty members.
