CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Inauguration of Two-Day CME and Workshop on “AIIMS Bhopal Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia 2024”
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS, in collaboration with the Research Society of Anesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology. Prof. Singh emphasized that “anesthesia plays a crucial role in any type of operation. With the development of new technologies, regional anesthesia has become particularly important and has proven to be highly effective.” He explained that instead of general anesthesia, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia allows for targeting only the specific part of the body that requires it, enhancing precision during operations. Prof. Singh expressed hope that this workshop would provide participants with the latest information in the field, enabling them to utilize it more effectively in their future careers.
Dr. Vaishali Wendesker, Head of the Anesthesia Department, stated that regional anesthesia can be administered with complete accuracy using ultrasound, leading to better surgical outcomes and shorter recovery times for patients. She added that the anesthesia department plays a special role in all types of surgeries and that acute and chronic pain is treated in specially equipped operating theaters. The event is attended by 85 delegates and 40 faculty members from various parts of the country.
