CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhopal (IIIT Bhopal), in celebration of its 9th Foundation Day, organized a special workshop on the theme ‘Science and Technology for Humanity’ in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST). The event was held at Hotel Palash Residency, New Market, Bhopal.

The main objective of the workshop was to bring together scientists, academicians, industrialists, and policymakers on a single platform to discuss the role of innovations in social development. Mrs. Kavita Khanna, Chairperson of the Board of Governors of IIIT Bhopal, extended her best wishes for the success of the event.

The workshop featured thoughts shared by MPCST’s Director General Anil Kothari and AIIMS Bhopal’s Director Ajay Singh. Also present were K.K. Shukla, Director of MANIT Bhopal; C.C. Tripathi, Director of NITTTR Bhopal; Rajiv Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor of RGPV Bhopal; and Gobardhan Das, Director of IISER Bhopal.

The program was chaired by Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Director of IIIT Bhopal. Highlighting the institute’s achievements, he said that the development of humanity is impossible without a strong foundation in social sciences. Prof. Gobardhan Das gave examples of India’s technological progress and stated that by the year 2058, India will become a developed nation. Prof. Rajiv Tripathi emphasized the social impact of technological development. Prof. C.C. Tripathi highlighted the need for the use of information technology in the medical field and related research. Prof. K.K. Shukla shed light on the importance of Karma Yoga in science. Finally, Anil Kothari stressed the significance of innovation.

The workshop saw active participation from students, teachers, and industry representatives. The program infused new energy into science, innovation, and social development.
