CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Director Ajay Singh, the Center of Precision Medicine at AIIMS Bhopal organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program and workshop on the occasion of World Cancer Day. The event, themed “Advancing Cancer Care Through Precision Medicine,” featured in-depth discussions by global oncology experts on the role of precision oncology in cancer treatment. The program highlighted AIIMS Bhopal’s commitment to innovative research and international collaboration in cancer care.

Key Highlights of the Event

Renowned international oncologists participated in the day-long event. Notable speakers included Sridhar Ganesan from New York University, who delivered a lecture on monitoring cancer’s clonal dynamics in clinical settings, and Vivek M. Rangnekar from the University of Kentucky, who discussed overcoming cancer therapy resistance.

A significant milestone of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AIIMS Bhopal and the Global Cancer Consortium (GCC). The MoU signing was attended by Jyoti Kode (Secretary, GCC South Asia Chapter) and Mahadev Rao (GCC Member), marking the beginning of a new era in international collaboration for cancer research and treatment.

Commitment to Advanced Cancer Care

Expressing his satisfaction with the event’s success, Executive Director Singh stated, “This initiative is a milestone for our institute. By integrating cutting-edge technologies such as 3D organoids and advanced radiation therapy into cancer care, we are taking a major step toward transforming cancer treatment in India.”

Director Saikat Das delivered a keynote lecture on the potential of precision oncology in clinical practice. The afternoon session featured two specialized workshops:
