The Regional Science Center, Bhopal, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate, Central Pollution Control Board, Bhopal, celebrated World Earth Day by organizing a series of programs for students and the general public.
As part of the event, two competitions were held for school students: the ‘Poster Making Competition’ and the ‘Rangoli Making Competition’. A total of 229 students participated in the Poster Making competition, while 26 teams participated in the Rangoli Making competition.
Additionally, the Regional Directorate, Central Pollution Control Board, Bhopal, set up an exhibition corner that featured:
Testing equipment for measuring PM-2.5 and PM-10 particles and gaseous pollutants for air quality measurement.
Information about the Air Quality Index (AQI) and the use of the ‘Sameer’ app.
Insights into single-use plastics and their eco-friendly alternatives.
Techniques for monitoring and testing water quality.
Noise pollution measurement techniques.
Information about the government’s ‘Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment)’ initiative.
The event also featured a Selfie Point Corner and a Signature Campaign, further encouraging active participation among attendees.
All successful participants in the competitions will be honored with certificates and awards. A total of 348 visitors participated in these activities, including students, teachers, homemakers, and general citizens.
