CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: World Health Day is celebrated every year in Bhopal. This day offers us an opportunity to become more aware of health and to take a pledge toward a healthier future.

This year’s theme, “Stay Healthy, Secure the Future,” reminds us that a healthy society forms the foundation of progress. The Government of India has taken several significant steps to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates. Approximately 65% of the country’s population consists of mothers and children, and various schemes are being implemented to promote institutional deliveries for their benefit.

Key initiatives taken by the government include:

Promoting institutional deliveries to ensure safe childbirth.

Establishing and expanding Special Newborn Care Units (SNCUs) for better neonatal care.

Offering incentives and free medical services to ensure 100% implementation of immunization campaigns.

On this day, let us all pledge to support government efforts to reduce maternal and infant mortality. All women should seek medical advice before and after childbirth and prioritize marriage and pregnancy around the age of 25. Pregnancy at an older age can lead to several health complications.

Healthy mothers and healthy babies are the true identity of a healthy India.
