CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Hindi Day, the Department of Hindi at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls’ Postgraduate College, Shivaji Nagar, Bhopal, organized an insightful lecture. The event featured Mr. Manoj Srivastava, Retired Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, as the keynote speaker. He delivered a highly informative and significant lecture on the role of Hindi language and literature in the Indian knowledge tradition.

In his original lecture, he emphasized that one’s own religion, identity, and language shape personality. He explained that Swānanddham is the realm of Lord Ganesha, marking the beginning of the Indian knowledge tradition. He also stressed that Hindi is a language of communication, and this foundation should be recognized. Globally, Hindi is one of the most scientific and fundamentally clear languages.

On this occasion, the college’s principal, S.B. Goswami, stated in his address that Hindi has its roots in Vedic language, and it stands as the supreme language in the world.

Dr. Kirti Sharma, Head of the Hindi Department, highlighted the importance of the Hindi language, stating that understanding Indian culture and knowledge tradition requires knowledge of Hindi. She noted that due to its sensitivity and strength, global thinkers have ranked Hindi as the top language. She further said that as Hindi is the official language of India, it is our duty and constitutional responsibility to promote its development.

During the event, the chief guest awarded prizes to students from the Hindi Department who excelled in competitive exams and represented the country in international sports events. The event was attended by PK Khare, Head of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell, Administrative Officer Dr. Manisha Sharma, faculty members, and a large number of students.
