CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of World Hindi Day, the Department of Indian Languages at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication organized an essay competition for students. Centered on this year’s theme, “Hindi: A Global Voice of Unity and Cultural Pride,” the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The event commenced with a special address by Registrar and Head of the Management Department, Prof. Avinash Bajpai, who highlighted the role of social media platforms in promoting the global reach of Hindi. Dr. Rakhi Tiwari, Head of the Department of Indian Languages, shed light on the history and significance of World Hindi Day and National Hindi Day, celebrated on September 14 each year.

Dr. Tiwari encouraged the youth of India, as passionate advocates of Hindi, to act as ambassadors of the language in their daily lives. She emphasized the importance of leveraging digital mediums to increase the use of Hindi, transform it into a language of employment, and strengthen its connection to India’s rich cultural heritage. She further stated that digital platforms could play a significant role in fostering excellence in Hindi communication.

Academic mentor Manikanthan Nair expressed gratitude while urging the audience to promote harmony between Hindi and other Indian languages. The event was attended by faculty, staff, and students of the department.
