CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : The Pharmacy Department of Barkatullah University, Bhopal, organized World Pharmacist Day with the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacist.” The event was attended by Professor Vivek Sharma, Director CRIM Barkatullah University, Bhopal; Professor Neeraj Gaur, Director BUIT Bhopal; Professor Ragini Gothalwal, Director, Department of Pharmacy; Bhavya Tripathi, Registrar, State Pharmacy Council; and Avinash Tiwari, MD, MBBS, County Hospital.
All the dignitaries shared their thoughts on the occasion. Chief Guest Bhavya Tripathi provided insights on Digital Locker services and pharmacy registration processes. Professor Ragini Gothalwal administered the pharmacy oath and expressed her views on the theme of the day. Dr. Rachna Akhand Giri highlighted the activities planned by the pharmacy department for the day.
Various activities were organized for students, including quiz competitions, herbal product presentations, model displays, and project presentations, in which students actively participated. Avinash Tiwari delivered a special lecture, educating students about antibiotics and antibiotic resistance.
Former student Ravendra Gupta donated first aid kits, which were distributed in the adopted village Kodia Fanda. The vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Lokesh Parmar. Additionally, a free health check-up was conducted for around 200 people, organized courtesy of Dr. Sharad Singhai, Director, County Hospital.
The event successfully promoted awareness about the role of pharmacists in healthcare and encouraged active student participation in health and community initiatives.
